Nerdsense Drinks Reviews – #27 Arcade Brewing Grapefruit IPA

This was another pretty awesome beer I brought back from January trip to Chicago. Don’t worry, we made this video when it was only a few weeks old.

Arcade Brewing out of Chicago! IPA brewed with Grapefruit JUICE! Not grapefruit but grapefruit juice! This grew on us for sure. I want more. It now comes in 6 packs!

We had a problem with the mic audio on this one, so it’s a mixture of mixer and camera audio so you’ll notice the quality go from nice (mixer) to pretty good (camera) back to nice (mixer)

Nerdsense Episode 66 – Nerdsense Drinks Vol.2

Welcome to another Nerdsense Drinks compilation episode!! We’ve edited together Episodes 4 and Episode 5 which are Ecliptic Brewings Canopus IPA and a head to head battle between Sierra Nevada’s Narwhal Imperial Stout and their Barrel Aged Narwhal!

Notes: Light and crisp. Awesome citrus malt balance. Super smooth. Floral and grapefruit on the nose

Sierra Nevada Barrel Aged Narwall

Style: Barrel Aged Imperial Stout
Container: 22oz Bomber
Glassware: Firestone Walker Tulip and Tulip
Overall Nerdsense Rating: 5/5
Notes: Nose – Bourbon (Duh!) Vanilla, sweeter aroma, caramel and chocolate makes the sweetness. Flavor – Chocolaty and much sweeter with less coffee than the regular Narwall. Lots and lots of bourbon

Sierra Nevada Narwall

Style: Imperial Stout
Container: 12oz Bottle
Glassware: Firestone Walker Tulip and Tulip
Overall Nerdsense Rating: 4.5/5
Notes: Smells mellow coffee, very boozy on the nose, cocoa. Taste is dark chocolate, coffee, boozy without a burn in the back

Narwall + Barrel Aged Narwall Blend 

Notes: Milkshake or Sweet Stout. This takes the harshness out and it’s extremely smooth. The smell isn’t much but the flavor is great!

Nerdsense Episode 64 – Man of Steel

Nerdsense Drinks Reviews – #18 Alameda Yellow Wolf Imperial IPA

This is the last of the Portland beers. It was a sad day. This week we dive in to Alameda Brewing’s Yellow Wolf Imperial IPA!

With over 100 IBUs Yellow Wolf has enough eye-popping intensity to satisfy even the most ardent hopheads. It has bright piney nose and light golden color. We suggest pairing it with sunshine.

Nerdsense Episode 62 – Under the Red Hood

Another week, another step forward. We are almost there, ladies and gentlemen. Our tickets are purchased. Our seats are guaranteed. But we still have miles to go before we see Batman V Superman.

The train stopped at ‘Batman: Under the Red Hood’ this week, and we weren’t going to complain.

As we’ve done in previous weeks, we take apart the film, talking about the good and the bad, and have fun with it. We also take a look at some of the nerdy news, and discuss the latest episode of Legends of Tomorrow.

Notes: Notes of malt and sweet fruit on the nose. Malty caramel backbone with candied apricot and peach. Nice soft mouth feel. More English style IPA.
