Notes: Nose – Bourbon (Duh!) Vanilla, sweeter aroma, caramel and chocolate makes the sweetness. Flavor – Chocolaty and much sweeter with less coffee than the regular Narwall. Lots and lots of bourbon

Sierra Nevada Narwall

Style: Imperial Stout

Notes: Smells mellow coffee, very boozy on the nose, cocoa. Taste is dark chocolate, coffee, boozy without a burn in the back

Narwall + Barrel Aged Narwall Blend 

Notes: Milkshake or Sweet Stout. This takes the harshness out and it’s extremely smooth. The smell isn’t much but the flavor is great!

Another Portland Oregon IPA thanks to Mike’s buddy Spencer. We really enjoy these Northwest IPAs. They’re different enough from the normal East & West coast IPA’s we normally consume.

Notes: Super smooth IPA. Not what we’re used to but not to much malt and just enough citrus to make it really drinkable. Wish I could get more of this

Nerdsense Drinks – Episode 2 – Sam Adams Rebel Raw

Wow! We did another video! I will say, editing audio is far easier than editing video.

Mike got his hands on the latest from Sam Adams. First off, this beer has definitely caused some conversations on the interwebz when it was first announced. When Sam Adams first announced this beer, it was pretty clear they were going after the Vermont IPAs you find in cans and are supposed to “Drink Fresh”

It’s pretty much what they did and for a company as large as Sam Adams they pretty much did just that. This is by far one of their best brews in years. It’s hoppy, it’s juicy, the nose is outstanding.

Afterthought

After having this and the Grapefruit Rebel a few weeks back, I’m hoping Sam may start doing some more interesting brews.

Episode 50 – Nerdsense Episode 51

Shaun and Mike are back, and this time the slurring is minimal.

They are all over the controversial new trailer for Batman V. Superman, covering everything, including Jesse Eisenberg’s polarizing Lex Luthor, Affleck’s Bat-voice, and the film’s villain, Doomsday.

They also give their opinions on the recent Arrow/Flash two part crossover extravaganza, and have a more in depth discussion on the new Netflix series Jessica Jones.

Notes: Very very black with fruit on the nose. Not as much hop profile as I was expecting but we did drink this a week after it’s “Enjoy By” date but overall still a great brew

New Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice Trailer!

Here it is boys and girls! The 2nd official full length trailer for next years behemoth, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice!

It’s a pretty revealing 3 minutes. We learn that the villain, well one of them at least, is Doomsday who is created from the deceased Zod. Granted, the trailer could be misleading so we’ll have to wait until March to see how that really plays out.

We also see our three heroes team up versus battling each other with a little humor sprinkled in for good measure.
