Episode 10 – Clerks Fail (About Mike and Shaun)

This is an extremely short episode where Mike and myself give a little background on who we are, how we became friends and how this site and podcast came to be. We recorded it on August 16, 2014 but wanted to wait to release it since it was rather short and didn’t really go into what we usually discuss on Nerdsense. A good excuse to release it was came on September 11, 2014 when my daughter, Kaylee Grace Furey, was born so we had to postpone recording this weeks podcast. In order to keep with our weekly installments, it seemed a good of a time as any to release this.

We originally planned to record a commentary of Kevin Smith’s Clerks that day but about 20 minutes into the recording Mike looked at me and said “This isn’t working”. It clearly wasn’t as Clerks is a fairly dialogue driven movie which makes it hard to discuss when we’re reading subtitles.

Episode 9 – The Realization

In this weeks episode we are joined once again by our good friend Jason.

We don’t usually start each podcast with sad news but Joan Rivers passed away the day of recording so we felt the need to touch on everything she brought to the entertainment industry.

We also discuss recent casting news in the DC Universe. Dwayne Johnson will be playing Black Adam in the DC Movie Universe’s adaptation of Shazam!

We also have confirmation of the casting of Ra’s al Ghul in the DC TV Universe. Matt Nabber will be playing him starting with the 4th episode of the 3rd season of Arrow. We must say though, we are a little disappointed that it isn’t Liam Neeson. Mr. Neeson said in an interview the other day that he would love to reprise the role he made famous in Batman Begins.

Beers

Night Shift Morph 8/19/14 Batch – This one is very juicy with a very big citrus, especially grapefruit on the nose. This is a rotating IPA series by Night Shift where each batch will be a different recipe. Hopefully we will have the 2nd batch in a couple weeks.

Night Shift Art #33 Pfaffenheck – A “crushable” German Pilsner. Very nice citrusy lager.

Allagash Black – A belgian style stout

Episode 8 – Bad Jason

In this week’s episode we make up for last week’s condensed episode. We discuss some articles that we found bashing the Nolan-verse Batman flicks in comparison to the Burton films. We dive into our take on all three Nolan Batman films, including how each of us would rate them in the order of watchability.

We also discuss a recent interview with Sir Ben Kingsley where he discusses the possibility of Trevor Slattery actually being the Mandarin and whether the actor is actually the facade. Link to original IGN article below.

Episode 2 – Batman (1966) Commentary

This is a commentary of the 1966 Batman movie starring Adam West and Burt Ward. We let the listener know when and where they should start the film if they would like to listen while watching. We recommend lowering the volume of the film’s audio track as to not interfere with the volume of the commentary track.
