This was the first video we recorded using the new setup. We’ve since released a few other videos before releasing this. The main reason was we wanted to get the Night Shift Morph reviews out while the current release was still on the shelf.
All of our old videos with the previous setup are in the wild now so please enjoy our new setup. We like it and hope you do as well!
Style: Barleywine Container: 12oz bottle Glassware: Snifters Notes: (From website)Our second collaboration creation with Sean Lawson of Lawson’s Finest Liquids, Double or Nothing is a devilishly sweet Barley Wine that’s aged on maple wood and brewed with a heavenly dose of Vermont maple syrup.
Enjoy fresh or lay one down for future indulgence Rating: 4.25/5
Style: Double IPA Container: 2 x 16oz Can Glassware: Small tasters for look only then drank from the can Notes: (From website) Take a big sip of Heady and see what hop flavors you can pick out. Orange? Tropical Fruit? Pink Grapefruit? Pine? Spice? There is just enough malt to give this beer some backbone, but not enough to take the hops away from the center stage. Rating: 5/5
This week Mike and Shaun are buried under a massive amount of news. Most coming out Cinemacon. Strap in as loads of nerdy news are blown into your ear drums and listen as your hosts try to make Nerdsense out of it (see what I did there?)
This was another pretty awesome beer I brought back from January trip to Chicago. Don’t worry, we made this video when it was only a few weeks old.
Arcade Brewing out of Chicago! IPA brewed with Grapefruit JUICE! Not grapefruit but grapefruit juice! This grew on us for sure. I want more. It now comes in 6 packs!
We had a problem with the mic audio on this one, so it’s a mixture of mixer and camera audio so you’ll notice the quality go from nice (mixer) to pretty good (camera) back to nice (mixer)
Style: Grapefruit IPA Container: 22oz Bomber
Glassware: Tulips Notes: (From Website) Arcade Brewery has crafted this very sessionable IPA featuring citrus hop aroma and the addition of grapefruit; creating an awesome balance between hop bitterness and the citrus bite. A fine balancing act of biscuit malts allows a long hop finish wont fatigue taste buds; allowing the second pint to build off the first. An immensely sessionable ale, [the] Grapefruit IPA will win over all drinkers and give IPA lovers a new take on the incredibly popular style. Rating: 3.75/5
We dive into the 3rd offering from America’s first Trappist brewery! It’s Spencer Brewing out of Springfield, MA Imperial Trappist Stout!! Let this sucker warm up and you’ll be in for a tasty treat!!
Style: Russian Imperial Stout Stout Container: 750mL corked bottle
Glassware: Spiegelau Stout Glasses Notes: A massive, roasted, malt-forward American Trappist take on the Anglo-Russo Imperial Stout tradition. Luxuriantly frothy foam, waves of coffee, chocolate and caramel sensations, a generous blend of dark fruit flavors. Intense and robust. Rating: 3.75/5
We got our very first growler! We’ve got a Oatmeal Stout from Night Shift called Bennington!
We recorded this episode back in February. I wish we released this sooner as Bennington is no longer available. Hopefully they’ll brew it again so you can grab a growler to try for yourself!
Style: Oatmeal Stout Container: 32oz groweler
Glassware: Night Shift snifters Notes: (From Website) Oatmeal stout aged with maple syrup. Notes of maple, toffee, and milk chocolate with a delicately roasty finish Rating: 4/5

Overall Nerdsense Rating: 3.75/5 Notes: Light and crisp.Awesome citrus malt balance. Super smooth. Floral and grapefruit on the nose
Style: Barrel Aged Imperial Stout
Container: 22oz Bomber
Glassware: Firestone Walker Tulip and Tulip
Overall Nerdsense Rating: 5/5 Notes: Nose – Bourbon (Duh!) Vanilla, sweeter aroma, caramel and chocolate makes the sweetness. Flavor – Chocolaty and much sweeter with less coffee than the regular Narwall. Lots and lots of bourbon
Style: Imperial Stout
Container: 12oz Bottle
Glassware: Firestone Walker Tulip and Tulip
Overall Nerdsense Rating: 4.5/5 Notes: Smells mellow coffee, very boozy on the nose, cocoa. Taste is dark chocolate, coffee, boozy without a burn in the back
Narwall + Barrel Aged Narwall Blend
Notes: Milkshake or Sweet Stout. This takes the harshness out and it’s extremely smooth. The smell isn’t much but the flavor is great!
